Our R&D Technicians are an integral part of the product and process development lifecycle. They work alongside the Engineering and Production teams to help in the development and continuous improvement of our products and manufacturing processes. R&D Technicians are typically responsible for devising and delivering test and validation projects along with manufacturing first article and prototype products.
Processes include Filament Winding, Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM), Compression Moulding, Tailored Fibre Placement, Resin Infusion, Wet Lay-up and Pre-Preg Laminating. Other regularly used equipment may include CNC machine centres, Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM), inspection equipment, programmable ovens, injection machinery and various pressure devices.
R&D Technicians will typically have qualifications in a science or technology related subject but may also be from a skilled hands on background such as machine operators, mechanics, laboratory scientists etc.
